The Tru-Steel HD® Design Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, doesn’t just host the team that develops every image we print; it also serves as a showroom for the product itself. This nearly 30 ft. tall feature wall dominates the entryway of the Design Center… you can’t miss it.

What many visitors do miss is that it’s entirely made from Tru-Steel HD® using the Burnt Charcoal Plank image, not real wood. This wall’s hyper-realistic look comes from a combination of Tru-Steel HD®’s 32-foot repeat length, its broad spectrum of colors, and the 8″ wide by 13’ long flush-wall plank panels.

While Tru-Steel HD® looks fantastic in any steel panel profile, we’ve found that the most realistic-looking are those that mimic real wood planks, such as shiplap, dutchlap, and these flush-wall planks

Prismatic Colors

Our perception of color changes with different lighting conditions. In the warm light of the morning or evening, an object will take on the yellow-orange glow of the sun. The cool light of dusk might make that same object appear more blue or gray.

Our Burnt Charcoal Plank image is designed to accurately mimic the color shifts of real wood as it is exposed to changing lighting conditions. Draw your eye to the shadows in each photo to see how the planks shift from near-black to a lighter charcoal with blue undertones and sporadic waves of yellow and orange.
